Queen of the South

I must say, Teresa will do good in New Orleans. She is holding her own when it comes to that corrupt judge and his nephew. She has the opening of her new bar and it was a success.

Pote brought Tony home and has a surprise visitor, Kelly Anne, who Teresa thought was dead. Teresa makes it clear that she does not want to have anything to do with her; Kelly Anne understands.

What really gets interesting is when Boaz and Javier get in a fight with Rene and his body guard but it does not end well. Now Teresa will probably have to clean up the mess.

The Handmaid’s Tale

I’m on Season two now and Offred, the main character, tried to escape and got catch right as the plane was pulling out to take her to freedom. Now she is back with the same family, pregnant with no where to go.

The first part of the season, Offred has lost her will to escape. She even tries to kill herself. But she finally comes around and is now secretly plotting. Serena, the commander’s wife, is very suspicious of Offred but can not prove anything.

The handmaids you can see are getting tired of being enslaved. One of them has a bomb at a ceremony and blows up part of the new building that has been built. She dies and so does a lot of handmaids and commanders. She was of course is focused on the commanders but some handmaids were hit.

So, I hope this puts the fear in some of the commanders and their wives. These women have to see the end soon, I hope. I will keep watching.

The Handmaid’s Tale

I have watched ten episodes of this show and I must say, it’s hard to stop and turn the TV off. Those women are very strong to endure all the pain they go through physically and mentally. They are definitely not thinking clearly; because don’t they remember that there are more women in the world than men. But then they have those Stepford Wives too, so it may be a lot of them.

I did research on why they wear red; it’s because of their menstrual cycle. Blue is for the Stepford Wives. Brown is for the house maid/cook. And they wear the same colors and outfit clothes everyday. This has cult written all over it. But, this show really makes you think.

The Handmaid’s Tale

One of my co workers, Chastity, told me to watch this show and I must say she was right; it’s a great show. It’s amazing how just one law can change the world. The women were strong and now it’s like they are second class citizens.

I’m on Season one and I was hooked after the third episode. I will continue to watch and will make more comments later.

If you didn’t want to watch it like me, you may want to give it a try.

Queen of the South

Teresa Mendoza is back!! Now she is in New Orleans of all places. I’m not sure why she picked this place to start over in. She is in the process of opening a bar. Now she is getting her product in liquid form. Pote is suspicious of everything. She has George with her now. No James, who left at the end of the last season. She buys Pote a house with his dream kitchen. She has a new beau named Eddie; will he be the new James?

I’m not sure New Orleans will be the place for her business. She is already being watch by a neighboring jazz club owner down the street. And she has been threatened by a local Judge Lafayette.

Her being a legit business will come to an end soon.

Colony

I’m currently watching Season 3 of this show. It’s really scary how shows give you a picture of how there may be other beings on other planets just waiting to invade the Earth. If you are interested in this, watch the show starting with Season 1.

It focuses on a family trying to make it after the world ends and Host, as they call them, take over the Earth. This family is trying to survive and will fight to stay alive. Give it a try.

Animal Kingdom

I just finished Season 3. I must say, Smurf’s children are loyal to her even though they don’t like her. Smurf is in jail the first part of the season and she’s trying to run her business from jail through her grandson, Jake. Now Jake has gone through so much in his life growing up with a Mom who is a drug addict and dies in Season 1. That’s how Jake comes to live with his grandmother, Smurf. While Smurf is in jail, she signs all her business over to Jake because she doesn’t trust her three boys to do the right thing.

Her adopted son, Baz, steals everything out of her storage unit in Season 2. In Season 3, Baz splits some of the money with her brothers but hides the rest in a house he bought. Now Baz has a girlfriend Lucy who helps him hide the money. Around Episode 8, Baz is murdered while Lucy leaves him there to die.

Now the sad part in all of this is that Baz has a daughter named Lena. She is around 8 years old and Baz was always leaving her with his brother, Pope. Lena’s mother who is Baz’s wife was killed by Pope in Season 1. Pope hides her body and pretends she just took off without Lena; this is strange to everyone because she would never leave Lena. So in Season 3, Baz thinks Smurf had his wife killed and is angry with her so that’s why he betrays her. After Baz is murdered, Pope begins to take care of Lena; he loves the child and wants her to be safe. Lena starts to get in trouble at school and that’s when child protective services gets involved; and later take her out of the home with Pope. Lena is put into foster care and Pope is so upset that he tries to find her.

In the meantime, Smurf gets out of jail and comes home to a house that is a mess. The boys had been having wild parties in her home and she is not happy. The boys all come home to her house and found her there and are so shocked to see her in the kitchen cooking. She finally gets back in their good graces and things start to settle down.

Now while Pope is still upset about Lena, Smurf does call her contacts and finds out what foster home she is in. Smuf takes Pope over to the foster home to see the house and he is satisfied knowing she is safe. Later, Smurf arranges for Lena to be released in her custody. She brings Lena home to a decorated room full of toys and a closet full of clothes. Pope gets suspicious of Smurf’s intentions, and that same day takes Lena back to the foster home she has grown to love; she was also in the process of getting adopted by the foster parents.

A lot happens in this season, I advise anyone one to watch starting with Season 1. I will say after watching three seasons, no one ever smiles in the show. Everyone is always so serious. Even Lena never smiles. Give it at least three episodes; you may get hooked.

9-1-1

Season Finale. There is serial bomber on the loose. He ends up at Athena’s house and her son almost picks up a box that has a bomb inside. The police are trying to piece together who the bomber is. Comes to find out that it’s the son of a man that was put in prison for setting his restaurant on fire to get the insurance money. The father dies in prison and the son goes after everyone that put his father in jail. Athena was the arresting officer at the time.

Now Bobby was also there, so the bomber sets a bomb in one of the fire trucks that blows up and Buck gets his foot caught under the fire truck; it’s life or death for him. The bomber meant for Bobby to get killed, but his is not. He comes out on the street full of people wearing a bomb vest looking for Bobby. Bobby talks him down and police grabs him taking him into custody.

At the end Athena and Bobby get married at the court house with her two children. Buck has several surgeries to repair his foot. Maddie and Howie get back together. Eddie graduates from the academy. After the bombing, everyone tries to put their lives back together.
