It will be back this week. Are you ready?!!
The Handmaid’s Tale
The season finale for this show was the best I have seen in a very long time. June did it. She got over 52 kids out of Gilead. She really did it.
I was on the edge of my seat during the preparation and getting the children through the woods. They ran into a snag, but June sacrificed staying behind as a distraction so that the kids could make it to the plane.
And one of the best parts was when Handmaids and Marthas stayed behind to help June distract the Guardian. A few of them were shot but they kept throwing the rocks at the Guardian.
June again sacrificed her safety to get the Guardian in the woods so she can shoot him; and to make him call to say his call to the others was a false alarm. She gets shot in the process of running away. After he calls the others, she shoots him again but in the face.
The kids made it out and are now in Canada. One of the kids reunited with her father; who was a volunteer with the relief team. Luke was hoping for Hannah and June to get off the plane but it didn’t happen. Rita hugged Luke and said the June made the escape happen for the kids. It was happy moment.
At the end, June can’t get up from the ground after being shot, but again Handmaids come to her aid; pick her up and take her out of the woods. Season 4 will take over from there. What is going to happen to the Handmaids now? Who are they going to blame for getting all the kids out? What will happen to June and Hannah? What will happen to Commander Lawrence? So many unanswered questions.
The Handmaid’s Tale
I’ve watched Season 3 and that show is one of the best shows on tv right now. The Handmaids and the Marthas are planning something big for the finale. The show has renewed for Season 4.
A lot happens in Season 3. At the beginning, June is focused on her new home with Commander Lawrence. Of course, she has her thoughts on what to do next; and she is always thinking. Now she wants to get the children out of Gilead. That’s a big task. She has 52 children that the Marthas will help get them to Canada. Now, June has to figure out how to do it. Commander Lawrence will only help if she gets his wife out of Gilead; his wife is very sick and cannot get the medicine she needs.
June’s focused this season of getting those children out. Commander Lawrence gets cold feet at first, but June can talk him into anything.
The most exciting thing so far in the Season is Serena and Fred are put in prison in Canada. Now, the way it went down was priceless. And Serena sets Fred up to save herself. She wants to be with Nicole, the baby, so bad that she will do anything to get to Canada. If you haven’t seen it, you need to watch.
Another exciting thing is that to get a boat to hold all the children, June has to visit Jezebels to speak to the bartender, Billy. She runs into the Commander Winslow from DC and has a deadly altercation with him. He tries to rape her but she is not having it. They get into a fight and she eventually wins.
More episodes to go; so catch up if you haven’t already.
Queen of the South
The past episode was to me like watching the first season; back to Teresa being chased and her defending herself. I miss that in this season. The show needs to get back to more of the cat and mouse scenes, which is what made the audience fall in love with the show in the first place.
And put Tony back in school; he needs that structure. Pote showing him how to shoot a deer is not the education he needs. He’s getting bored.
Again, the last episode was the best this season so far.
Queen of the South
The night of her opening turns out to be very interesting. Teresa is so patient compared to Pote. She is trying to buy this trucking company and has problems with some local guy; he does not want to sell his part of the business.
I’m sure that Teresa should not get involved with the local musician. I’m thinking he is somehow kin to Lafeyette. Not sure if I trust him yet. Teresa is taking her guard down with him.
Teresa also needs to pay more attention to Tony. He is a teenager with anger problems and will need to get a consistent schedule back in his life. He is not Kellie Ann’s responsibility and she is in no shape to watch him.
I’m trying to understand this whole new life in New Orleans for Teresa.
Not sure when the show is going.
Queen of the South
Episode three didn’t really have any action in it. That judge Lafayette will need to leave Teresa alone. He does not know what she is capable of. He will keep nipping at her until she will strike back.
I really think Kelly Anne will be an asset to her going forward. She is currently studying for the New Orleans bar to get her lawyer credentials back. I’m thinking, Teresa will need her for that. Let’s hope she gets back into Teresa’s good graces.
Queen of the South
I must say, Teresa will do good in New Orleans. She is holding her own when it comes to that corrupt judge and his nephew. She has the opening of her new bar and it was a success.
Pote brought Tony home and has a surprise visitor, Kelly Anne, who Teresa thought was dead. Teresa makes it clear that she does not want to have anything to do with her; Kelly Anne understands.
What really gets interesting is when Boaz and Javier get in a fight with Rene and his body guard but it does not end well. Now Teresa will probably have to clean up the mess.
The Handmaid’s Tale
I’m on Season two now and Offred, the main character, tried to escape and got catch right as the plane was pulling out to take her to freedom. Now she is back with the same family, pregnant with no where to go.
The first part of the season, Offred has lost her will to escape. She even tries to kill herself. But she finally comes around and is now secretly plotting. Serena, the commander’s wife, is very suspicious of Offred but can not prove anything.
The handmaids you can see are getting tired of being enslaved. One of them has a bomb at a ceremony and blows up part of the new building that has been built. She dies and so does a lot of handmaids and commanders. She was of course is focused on the commanders but some handmaids were hit.
So, I hope this puts the fear in some of the commanders and their wives. These women have to see the end soon, I hope. I will keep watching.
The Handmaid’s Tale
I have watched ten episodes of this show and I must say, it’s hard to stop and turn the TV off. Those women are very strong to endure all the pain they go through physically and mentally. They are definitely not thinking clearly; because don’t they remember that there are more women in the world than men. But then they have those Stepford Wives too, so it may be a lot of them.
I did research on why they wear red; it’s because of their menstrual cycle. Blue is for the Stepford Wives. Brown is for the house maid/cook. And they wear the same colors and outfit clothes everyday. This has cult written all over it. But, this show really makes you think.
The Handmaid’s Tale
One of my co workers, Chastity, told me to watch this show and I must say she was right; it’s a great show. It’s amazing how just one law can change the world. The women were strong and now it’s like they are second class citizens.
I’m on Season one and I was hooked after the third episode. I will continue to watch and will make more comments later.
If you didn’t want to watch it like me, you may want to give it a try.
