Game of Thrones

Season Eight

Now you talk about a show to watch; this one should be on your list. It was not a boring show at all and I never fell asleep on it; which I tend to do at times. My Stark family came out on top!!

The first part of the season was centered around the Great War with the dead. It was a long bloody war. No help from Queen Cersei’s soldiers of course. But she gets taken care of later in the season. After all the killings with the war, Winterfell had to honor the loved ones that died.

Jon and Daenerys are to go to King’s Landing to make peace, but Daenerys has a different plan in mind. She retaliates against King’s Landing and demands her dragon to burn the entire city down even the innocent were killed. At the end Jon had to make a decision to kill Daenerys. He is jailed and later sent back to leading the Wildlings north of the wall.

With Queen Cersei gone, a new king is needed for King’s Landing and in the end Bran is picked. Sansa becomes the Queen in the North. Arya leaves on an adventure to sail around the world. In the end, the Stark family is saved. The good always wins in the end. No matter what bad came their way, they were able to overcome it.

I read reviews that everyone thinks the season was a disappointment and it was rushed. It was both of those things; but the message I got out of it was evil never wins. Hey, the season received 32 nominations so it’s worth watching and forming your own opinion. Hope you enjoy the show.

Game of Thrones

Season Seven

The Stark family had come together at last. It was a exciting time for me. Watching them get to know each other again and excepting the person they have become through the experiences and growing up they had to endure alone.

Jon Snow goes to Dragonstone to meet with Queen Daenerys in an attempt to get her to fight the war against King’s Knight army with him. He ends up falling in love with her; seems like, at first glance. He also knows she has dragon glass weaponry and wants to see if she will let him take some. He shows her the cave the dragon glass is kept in; and Daenerys sees all the writing on the walls in the caves. She agrees to let Jon take some with him. He also wants Queen Cersei of King’s landing to help with the war. So he with a group of his allies come together to take one of the ice zombies alive; takes it the King’s Landing to show Cersei that it’s real. She agrees to help; but I don’t trust she will keep her promise.

Bran Stark arrives to Winterfell and Sansa is happy to see him but is freaked out with his mannerism. He is just creepy acting and know one knows that he died and his body is occupied by the Three Eyed Raven, who is the all seeing, all knowing figure in Westerosi myths. He has had a lot of visions being the Third Eyed Raven; and knew a lot of events that happened in the past. He knows something about Jon Snow that will change his life forever.

Sansa Stark takes over Winterfell while Jon is at Dragonstone to get help. She was against his trip there but later sees that it was a good idea. She is reunited with Bran and Arya and is so happy to have them home. Sansa is becoming a stronger leader and able to lead Winterfell. She has Littlefinger to look out for. He is trying separate her and Arya with schemes. But the two sisters are smarter than him team up to execute Littlefinger. He seemed to always be a troublemaker.

Arya Stark is my favorite character. She took out Lord Walder first wiped out the entire House of Frey for the revenge of her mother and brother. I didn’t see that coming. She was on her way to King’s Landing when she learned that Jon was the King of Winterfell and that Sansa was there. Things fall into place for her when she gets there and she is at home.

A lot of interesting things happen in this season and I enjoyed it. The Starks children forever dedicated to each other. Winterfell is back even without their parents and brother to guide them. They have the Great War with the King’s Knight army. It was very intense which is all I can describe it as. The groups fought hard to defeat the knights; and it was getting to where they were giving up. Then Arya saves the day and kills the leader of the group and all the knights fall dead. Wow. It was epic. I cheered for their win and sadden to see all the friends they lost.

The best news from this season was that Jon Snow learned he is not a bastard son but the true heir to the Iron Thorne. He learned this news from his best friend and Bran. The next season hopefully will be as good as this season continuing to display good versus evil.

Game of Thrones

Season Six

The Stark family is getting closer to being back together. I’m so happy!

Jon Snow is dead. He comes back and saved by Melisandre, the lady in the red cape. I think she is a little strange too. Sansa and Jon are finally back together. They were so happy to see each other alive; so touching. They start to plan how they will take back Winterfell. They have a battle in episode nine – Battle of the Bastards. Jon Snow against Ramsay Bolton, two bastard sons. It was of course gruesome for me. Jon Snow and his men finally win with the help of Peter and his men. The only bad thing was the Starks loose their brother Rickon. Ramsey uses him as a pawn to get back at Jon.

Sansa is starting to get her urge to be strong. Ramsay did bad things to Sansa but she did survive. Once they won back Winterfell, Ramsay is put in a cage tied up. Sansa goes to visit him; and of course Ramsay talks mean to her. Sansa lets his dogs in his cage. Ramsay gets happy thinking the dogs will attack Sansa, but they turn on Ramsay and start feeding on him. That’s finally over. I just knew he would grab and pull her in the cage; but she was strong and the revenge was good to her. She left smiling.

Arya is still with that strange assassin group; and at the beginning of the season she is still blind but gets her eyesight back. She finishes her training, but soon plans her escape to Westeros. She is caught and almost killed by the group but she jumps in the river to hide. They later find her, but she still gets away. She is determined to finish her revenge list of people to take out. She ends up at the Twins in Westeros, disguises herself and kills Lord Frey.

Bran becomes the Third Eye Raven and continues to have his visions of the past. He does have an important vision of his father, Ned fighting to get inside the Tower of Joy where his sister is giving birth to baby Jon Stark. Ned’s sister gives the baby over to Ned before she dies; making Ned promise to raise Jon as his son. He escapes the White Walkers with the help of his uncle Benjen Stark. Bran makes it to the Wall to find Jon, but Jon is already gone. I tell you, Bran really gets around to be in a wheel chair.

So, the Stark Family is finally starting to get together. I can’t wait to see what the next season brings me.

Game of Thrones

Season Five

This season does not talk about the Stark family as much as I hoped. It’s mostly about the Lannisters who are completely an evil family. The Stark family is still not back together, no big surprise.

Jon becomes the big guy as Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch. He has a good heart and wants to help everyone, including the Wildlings. He goes on mission to save the Wildlings but loses men of the Night Watch. He is then brutally murder by several of his men. Now talk about disgraceful. All they had to do was have a sit down talk with Jon instead of setting him up.

Peter takes Sansa to Winterfell, where she is to marry Ramsey in an attempt to rebuild the castle. Ramsey is very brutal to her and she finally escapes on a quest to find her half brother, Jon. I thought she was already married to Tyrion; do they not believe in divorce? Anyway.

Arya is on a strange mission. She gets involved with some assassins who are training her to do their dirty work. She has no clue at first what is going on but soon learns; gets rebellious and looses her eye sight. Now what is going on at this place. All a know is that Arya needs to leave; but she thinks she has no where else to go. She is doing what she thinks is best right now. Arya, get out of there!!!

Another season gone and again my Stark family is not together. This happens every season so far. Things have to get better. Good things have to start happening to the Stark family. I am determined to keep watching in hopes of a change of circumstances.

Game of Thrones

Season Four

This season was not inspiring to me. The Stark Family is like the first three seasons – still torn apart.

Jon Snow is still with the Wildings with a plot to get away from them and help his home, The Wall. Jon gets away from the Wildings. Injured and alive he makes it back to The Wall; and warns them that the Wildings are coming. A fight breaks out and lots of people are killed.

Arya is still with The Hound traveling to the unknown. Brienne is sent to find Arya to keep the promise she made to Ayra’s mother to find and protect the children. Brienne finds Arya. Arya refuses to go with her; she is very suspicious of Brienne. The Hound and Brienne fight; with Hound getting hurt and Arya has to leave him to travel on her own.

Joffrey marries Margaery and has a big celebration. You know what they say about karma. Well, Joffrey is poisoned and dies. He was so mean to Tyrion and humiliated him the entire wedding dinner. And it’s funny. When he was chocking, no one rushed to help him at first. It was like slow motion; no anyone coming to try and rescue him. Reminder, never think you are better than others; and think you can treat others with disrespect. And of all things, Cersei accuses Tyrion of murder. Really.

During the dying of Joffery, Sansa gets away with the help of the joker; she is taken to a boat and then to a big ship. Peter is on the ship; and there to get her out of King’s Landing. I was so happy. I’m not sure of Peter’s motive is right now, but at least she is no longer there. Sansa is taken to her Aunt Lysa’s castle.

Bran Stark and his crew are on their mission still to find what, I have no idea. All I can say about him is that he is the luckiest kid every.

So, next season will continue with the fate of the Stark Family. I will not get my hope up too high.

Game of Thrones

Season Three

This season was the test for me to continue watching the show; but I can’t stop watching it!! I have been cheering for Starks to get back together and fix up Winterfell; get their lives back together. Now the Stark family is all in shambles.

King Robb goes to the castle of Frey to apologize for not marrying one of his daughters. He explains to the daughters that he did not mean to disrespect them, but he had fallen in love with someone else. Everything seems cool; they celebrate the marriage of one of his daughter to a cousin with food and music. Then everything goes bad. King Robb, Talisa and Catelyn are all taken out in a matter of five minutes. What went wrong? Frey apparently is still upset that Robb did not marry one of his daughters.

Arya in the meantime is almost there to reunite with Robb and Catelyn, but gets to the castle too late. Now she has to continue on to find her other siblings. Arya is getting stronger and able to take care of herself; but she needs her siblings.

Sansa marries Tyrion because of his father’s demands. Thank goodness, it’s a marriage in name only. King Joffery is not nice to Tyrion and embarrasses him at his own wedding. I feel sorry for Tyrion, but he is part of the Lannister family of monsters; and can not be let off the hook either. Sansa hears the news that her mother and brother are dead. Sansa needs to get out of King’s Landing the first chance she gets.

So starting Season Four, I want the Stark children to get back together. They have now lost their mother, father and older brother. What more can they take??

Game of Thrones

Season Two

Okay, you remember how I was so excited about season one; how I just knew the Stark family would get back together and everything will be fine. Well, that didn’t happen.

There is so much betrayal. King Robb Stark is trying to get a big army together so that he can defeat King’s Landing. He falls in love with Talisa, a field nurse at his camp, even though he was obligated to marry the daughter of one of his mother’s alias. His best friend Theon travels home to see his father to get help; but ends up traveling to Winterfell, taking over and killing most everyone there.

Arya is traveling around with anyone who would take her in, so that she can get back home to Winterfell; at the time not knowing, her home is gone. She and her traveling friends end up prisoners at a camp where she meets Lancel Lannister. She becomes his cupbearer and listens to learn everything she can about King’s Landing. She later escapes there for another search to find her family.

Sansa is still in Kings Landing trying to make the best of her situation. She is plotting to get away , to get back to Winterfell to find her family. She seems scared but in the end, I’m thinking she will become a strong leader.

Bran heads to the wall after Winterfell has fallen; he’s in search of Jon Snow. Him and his younger brother escape with nothing but are determined to find someone in their family. He cannot walk but he has friends that make sure he gets around. Theon earlier made it look like he had captured the young Stark boys and burned them; with that known, the young boys can move about freely.

The Battle of Blackwater is at King’s Landing. King Joffery is scared and wants to go back inside. Tyrion takes over and have the troops battle to victory. I really wanted King’s Landing to get demolished. That kingdom can not stay on top forever.

There was so much more that happed in this season so I don’t want to give too many details. You have to watch the show!!

Game of Thrones

Season One

Finished season one and now watching Season Two. OMG!! This show is so good and this is not my type of show but I’m loving it!! The storyline is well written. Two families – one good and the other one just evil. Lord Starks goes to Kings Landing to help his lifelong friend, King Robert, run things. Stark takes two of his children with him; one daughter, Sansa, who is due to marry the king’s son in time; so she is being groomed. The other daughter, Arya, I like the best because she is a thinker and does not take mess from anyone; she’s only 11 years old. There are more characters; but right now, these are the ones I care about right now.

The trouble starts when the King Robert dies and the young prince takes over. King Robert had written a letter for Lord Starks to take over when he dies, but it didn’t work out that way. The young King Jeffrey had Lord Stark killed and it’s on from there. What a mess this boy child has made. Everyone is ready to go to war. Young Arya runs away and Sansa stays at the kingdom to marry the young king. Rob Stark is planning a war to defeat King’s Landing because of his father’s killing.

So now, I’m on Season Two. What will happen to the good family? They are all separated right now, so will they come back together.? Will Lady Stark get her children back? What a mess. I have so many questions!!!

Game of Thrones (GOT)

I have started watching the GOT for the fifth time. The reason I love the show now is because I watched the zero episodes that talk about the characters, locations and what the relationships are. Now the show makes sense to me. This is not my particular genre, but it will give me something to watch and enjoy during the pandemic.

I have watched Season 1, Episodes 1-9 and I’m hooked. So if you have a chance and some time, give it a try. You may like it too!!

The Outsider

Just started this new show on HBO. Episode one starts out with the murder of an 11 year old boy who was found in the woods. The detective is looking to see who did it. They get evidence of who they think the killer is. They arrest a local kids baseball coach publicly at a game he is coaching.

Days before the arrest they are interviewing witnesses that had seen the coach at the time of the murder. They interview an older teacher who saw him pick the little boy up in his van thinking he was taking him home because he bike was broken. They interview a young girl who sees him coming out of the woods with blood all over him; and when the girl ask him what was wrong, he says he ran into a tree and hurt himself. They interview a guy at a bar that sees the coach come in with blood on his clothes; and watches him go into the bathroom to change clothes. They interview a cab driver that picks him up from that same bar and takes him to a hotel out of town.

After the coach gets arrested, his lawyer gets a video of a conference the coach attended the same day of the murder. There is video of him in the hallway of the hotel. How is that possible? Does he have another person that helped him? The suspense . . .
