Season Four, Episode Three
This episode starts out with June being tortured by a man who works for Gilead. He is really brutal and scary looking. They try everything to get June to talk and it only takes one thing to get her spill the beans – Hannah.
Aunt Lydia decides to send all the girls to a breeding colony where they will be in the fields by day and handmaids at night but not assigned to a Commander. What in the world is this mess. I thought the handmaids had to be clean and pure like for the commanders. Anyway. They are on their way, she says her goodbyes to Nick with a long kiss, really. They are riding in a van with Aunt Lydia; get to a crossing rail and will have to wait for the train to go by. In the meantime, June and girls are thinking of a way to escape. They do. They start running. The guardian starts shooting at them and kills two of the girls.
June and Janine make it over the railroad track before the train come. Alma and Brianna are running fast but do not make it across; they are killed. It was tragic. Why did it happen? Now the group is just June and Janine.
What a sad episode. June as always had played Nick with that kiss. She knows he will continue to keep her safe. Now he will have to look for her again. I hope he does not find her this time. Maybe with less handmaids to keep up with, June and Janine can move faster. And they need to get out of those red clothes and get some regular normal clothes. They really have to get out of the place. And to think it’s Boston and some part in Pennsylvania before it became Gilead.
